It’s not difficult to kick off 2019 with a bang, with the activities and events on offer round the Port Macquarie region this January.
Whether you want to work off some Christmas cheer with some physical fun, or sit and relax, there are plenty of options – and a few big names – around town this month. And with your self-contained accommodation at Northpoint Apartments in the heart of Port Macquarie, you’ll be in the thick of the new year festivities, without having to travel far.
Here are some of the region’s January highlights:
Bago Maze and Winery near Wauchope has added a second maze, alongside the largest hedge maze in NSW. Made from corn, this ‘maize maze’ (see what they did there?) is only available for a limited time, and will be harvested at the end of the month.
Inflatable fun to the max, this huge aqua park features slides, walkways, trampolines, swings, balance beams, wobble pads and much more, all contained within a man-made lake at Telegraph Point near Port Macquarie.
Star of the Hit TV Show ‘Deadly 60’, Steve Backshall, hits the Port Macquarie Glasshouse theatre on 16th January with some of Australia’s deadliest animals.
Two of Australia’s biggest bands of the 1980s combine for one who only, at Port Panthers on 17th January. If you’ve ever wanted to hear ‘Funky Town’ live, this is your chance!
Under the Southern Stars brings the best of Australian rock Westport Park, Port Macquarie, on 27th January. The line up includes Hoodoo Gurus, You Am I, Eskimo Joe and the Superjesus.
