If you’re a regular participant in parkrun, a weekend in Port Macquarie is be a great way to add another destination to your parkrun record – and Northpoint Apartments is in a prime parkrun position.
Never heard of parkrun? It’s a free, 5km, timed run (or walk) held weekly, all over the world. Almost half a million Australians have run, jogged or walked a parkun and they are held in almost 300 destinations around the country – including right outside your Port Macquarie accommodation at Northpoint.
The Port Macquarie parkrun follows a scenic route along both the river and Town beach every Saturday morning at 10am, and is a nice, flat course. You won’t need your car, as the starting line is just up from Northpoint Apartments at the end of the breakwall. And you don’t need to be an experienced runner – parkun is for all ages and abilities.
Local parkrunners love it when visitors participate from out of town, so holiday-makers will be made welcome at this free event. And after your run – or walk – it’s just a short, warm-down stroll back to your Port Macquarie hotel for a well-deserved brecky.
